I am a Chartered Director (C. Dir) with extensive experience in tech, governance, and research. I’ve served on numerous committees and boards, and I am actively engaged in volunteer work. I co-lead as a Director at a foundation dedicated to expanding and supporting educational opportunities. I’m a triple-citizen: born in Trinidad, grew up in St Lucia, and now reside in Canada as business doctoral candidate.

What I Do

I improve how data is captured, repair the systems that store it, and help govern the standards that protect it, establishing data quality, security, and stewardship policies.
I analyse data to uncover patterns and insights through qualitative and quantitative methods, and create visual narratives that help turn data into strategy.
I focus on how data can be ethically used to transform how we work through workflow and process optimisation, citizen development, and deterministic and AI automation.
I support the end-users of tools and applications that use the data through hands-on troubleshooting and operational support, and create intuitive web, graphic, and eLearning resources that help users adopt those tools with confidence.
I develop and execute multi-stage projects using agile project management methods, while leading cross-functional teams to align around shared goals…

Editor for the Harbourfront Centre

Jevi was selected as an Editor as part of the Volunteer Program Audit Committee at the Harbourfront Centre, responsible for creating representations of collected data, drawing conclusions from that data which they will translate into actionable insights for the volunteer program, and writing and for formatting the reports.

Jevi is a theorist, chartered director, researcher, web developer, and experimental interdisciplinary artist. As a community leader, Jevi has a passion for creating positive change. With over 15 years of experience working in community development, outreach and governance, Jevi has developed a reputation as a dedicated and effective advocate for women causes, tech for ageing populations, the environment, STEAM education for children, the arts, food security, and wellness. 

Jevi is a theorist, chartered director, researcher, web developer, and experimental interdisciplinary artist. Her theoretical and research-creation practice explores our individual and societal relationships with technology; privacy; governance; immersion; and speculative fiction. She uses art-based research as a method to investigate and share her findings, and coined the term hypervolition as part of her research.

Jevi obtained an MFA in Digital Futures from OCADU, and a Business Informatics BASc at McMaster University. Business Informatics is a specialised honors program focused on the combined core components of Business and Computer Science. Hailing from a family of scribophiles, she is fond of poetry. She graduated from the GBC School of Design. She later earned a professional certificate in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Jevi’s multidisciplinary studies has led to careers as a software programmer, business intelligence analyst, IT security analyst, and web and graphic designer. Jevi is currently continuing her research on algorithmic influence in pursuit of a Doctorate focused on Consumer Behaviour.

 
As a community leader, Jevi has a passion for creating positive change. Within her roles, she has initiated and led successful projects that have made a real difference. With over 15 years of experience working in community development, outreach and governance, Jevi has developed a reputation as a dedicated and effective advocate for women causes, tech for ageing populations, the environment, STEAM education for children, the arts, food security, and wellness. Jevi served on various boards and committees as chair. She also served as a member of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada’s Programs Committee. Her commitment to social justice and equity is evident in her work, and she has received numerous awards for her contributions.
